If you compare these to the photos I sent last year (especially the North photo), you would see that grass in the pasture area is much high this year. This reflects that the farmer has reduced his cattle herd by more than half, trying to retire, and there are fewer animals to eat the grass.
In the "down" picture, you can see that the field is relatively a monoculture, of newly planted oats, with some other species that have volunteered. (This is an organic farm so there are often more volunteers than you might otherwise expect.)
