CoCoRaHs Station: OR-MN-16. Photo taken in Marion County east of Salem, Oregon on 09-03-2012. Photo is of a grass seed field that was burned 3 weeks ago. The fields are burned after harvest to get rid of the straw, weed seeds and to sterilize the soil which also improves the next years crop. After burning the grass comes back and greens up very quickly.
